THE CHALLENGE OF CURRENT ARCHITECTURE TO APPROACH THE RURAL CONTEXT

As this technology and the urbanization is increasing day by day our focus is only towards making our cities better and better and working on this phenomenon we have given our all energies to the urban life and have forgotten that architects, designers, and urban planners also have some responsibilities to make rural life better.

As Rem Koolhaas said in 2016; ‘The current challenge of architecture is to understand the rural world’, an area normally ignored by architects who for decades have focused much of their energy on cities. Considering that these areas only make up 2% of the earth’s surface. Koolhaas appeals to us to change this perspective and understand that the future is in intervening in “bare, semi-abandoned, sparsely populated, sometimes badly connected spaces”,

Hence people should get their selves engaged that how a natural life and the social environment of these areas can get better so that the people living there can also facilitate themselves. As the urban life is important same as the rural life so the designers should aware more people and start taking interest in making rural areas a better place of living because, because of lack of appropriate environment and needs more and more people are taking shift towards urban life which is creating a hassle in urban cities hence, in order to control the issue the betterment of rural life should be under primal concerns.
